Part 4 in the Helena Series

After enjoying the view at the bayou, Helena and Marlon walked back to the gardens of the grand old house. There they stood beside Grandma’s oak again. Out of reverence for the wise old tree, they hesitated to lay their hands on its sturdy, grooved bark. Instead, they stood there for a while holding hands. In doing so, they soon noticed how powerful the oak was even at a distance. It filled them with a sense of calm.

“I believe the tree is saying it’s your turn first, Marlon,” Helena said, breaking the silence.

Marlon looked at her, then at the tree and back at her. He smiled the radiant smile that Helena had begun to love in the very short time since they had met.

“Yes, I do too, but with one hand only.”

Helena looked at him with a look of curiosity on her face. Marlon then led her by the hand to the tree and placed his other hand on its trunk.

“I know you’ll feel indirectly what the oak will tell me, but it feels better this way,” he explained.

“Thank you,” Helena said, smiling.

Then they both closed their eyes and listened to what the oak wanted to tell them.

In a matter of seconds, a radiant face appeared.

“Momma,” Marlon gasped audibly.

The face smiled at him with love in her eyes.

“Yes, I am here, Marlon.”

Marlon’s heart melted when he heard his mother speak. His eyes filled with tears of love.

“Momma, I miss you,” he whispered.

“I know, sweetheart. That’s why I’m going to tell you something very important.”

Marlon listened carefully.

“I want you to know that I love you and that you are not to blame for what I did. I became so depressed because of your poppa’s and my situation. I know I caused you a lot of pain and I am very sorry for that.”

“Momma, I forgive you. And I love you very much.”

“Thank you, sweetheart. Now I want you to meet someone.”

After Marlon’s mother had spoken, her face began to transform into white light so bright that Marlon thought it would blind him. However, when he managed to relax, the light actually felt very pleasant to his eyes.

A new voice spoke from the light. A voice clear and powerful, yet warm and gentle also.

“Marlon, I am the divine Mother and am also speaking to you on behalf of my other half, the divine Father. We are known to humankind under many different names. God, the Divine, the Almighty, Allah, the Greater Being, the Universe, Vishnu, Yahweh, El Asherra, Rainbow Serpent and Source are but a few. We are all of these and yet, we prefer the name: Love.”

Marlon listened in awe.

“Rest assured that we guide you every moment of your life. Marlon, please have faith,” the divine Mother continued.

“Dear Mrs. God,” Marlon said without the slightest hesitation, and he was surprised by the power that sounded from his voice.

The divine Mother smiled lovingly. It always warmed her heart when children addressed her in that manner.

“I do believe I have heard you many times, but I still find it difficult to have faith in myself.”

“You know now that you are without guilt and that you are loved, always,” the divine Mother replied. “Listen to your heart, as it is by way of the heart that we speak to you. And when you wish to speak to us, all you have to do is speak to yourself.”

“Yes, Mrs. God.”

“Please, call me mother.”

“Yes, mother,” Marlon continued. “I’m really glad there are two of you.”

Again, the divine Mother smiled lovingly.

“Actually, we are two-in-one, feminine and masculine working together. He sows, I reap, he creates, I manifest, in an ongoing and harmonious process of creation.”

Marlon took a few moments to take in what he had just heard.

“So, you’re equally important,” he concluded.

“Yes, Marlon, we are indeed. In fact, everything is equally important; feminine and masculine, big and small, old and new. In essence everything is good, for the essence is love.”

Marlon nodded in agreement, yet something still puzzled him.

“But, how come people do some really bad things?”

“You know, Marlon, like your dear friend here said this afternoon, they see no other way to get what they need in life. They live in fear, and fear and faith cannot be experienced at the same time. That is why you must always listen to your heart. There you will find courage and true self-love, in order to forgive yourself for all that there is to be forgiven.”

The divine Mother paused briefly. Then Marlon spoke.

“I understand, mother. I will do my best.”

The divine Mother smiled.

“We do not need you to do your best. Just be yourself and learn to enjoy and cherish your life here on Earth.”

Marlon chuckled.

“That’s right, Marlon, be joyous, just like we are. I have one last thing to say to you, for the time being.”
Marlon pricked up his ears.

“As it is in Heaven, so it is on Earth. Everyone is born as a perfect resemblance of us. Two-in-one, feminine and masculine, possessing the ultimate and divine power of creation. Marlon, the heart knows what the mind does not always understand. So, let your heart guide you. Let yourself be guided by Love and together we will transform the world into paradise, as it was when we created it at the beginning of time.”

Marlon felt his heart glowing, spreading a powerful sensation throughout his body.

“Yes, mother, I will do what you ask of me.”

“Very well, Marlon. We have endless faith in you. Keep in touch, my child.”

On speaking these last words, the divine mother disappeared, allowing Marlon’s mother to reappear.
“Oh, Marlon, I am so proud of you and of your friend, Helena.”

“I know, momma,” Marlon said with a radiant smile on his face, “and I’m proud of you.”

“Why, thank you, sweetheart. Now it is time for you to go and perform wonderful things. Remember, I am with you always and will visit you in your dreams. Bye bye, my son. I love you.”

“Bye bye, momma. I love you too.”

Marlon’s mother disappeared, leaving Marlon and Helena standing by the oak. They opened their eyes simultaneously and looked deep into each other’s eyes. Neither of them felt the need to speak. They simply smiled and swapped places. Helena placed her hand on the oak and they both closed their eyes again. What they then saw by way of the oak, struck them with awe.
